Corporate Social Responsibility

As part of our social responsibility, SIS look to improve social benefit by committing some of our profits to community groups, both locally and nationally.

Below is a selection of companies and organisations that we sponsor and support:

SIS have always offered a “give back” to social enterprises, community interest companies, voluntary groups and charities, by way of discounting their first year insurance premium.

SIS work alongside Unlock, an independent award-winning national charity that provides support for people with convictions.

SIS support the SALT Academy, a Social Enterprise which provides training and educational courses to ex-offenders and those still in custody.

SIS provide funding to National Prison Radio to help with the printing and distribution costs of their programme which reaches 80,000 prisoners.

SIS are members of EFFRR (Employers' Forum for Reducing Re-offending). We provide affordable Public Liability cover for reformed offenders that have gone down the self-employed route.

SIS supports Clean Sheet, a registered charity which aims to offer people with convictions the hope of a better future by finding real, permanent employment.

SIS continue to support the Princes Trust, a youth charity giving practical and financial support to disadvantaged young people.

SIS have long been supporters of Email a Prisoner, a special email service connecting prisoners to friends and family on the outside.

We sit within the Timpson Foundation providing advice and facilities on insurance matters. In 2012 we employed our first reformed offender.

SIS support Inside Time, a National monthly newspaper for prisoners. Inside Time Ltd is a “not for profit” publishing company and any profits are donated to The New Bridge Foundation.
